FossilRange

About FossilRange

FossilRange is a small reference site that puts 99 well-known dinosaur genera on one geological time scale and shows, for each, the rock formations, regions and countries its fossils come from, and which other dinosaurs were found in the same collections.

It is run by Sophie Taylor. The site is independent: it is not affiliated with the Paleobiology Database, any museum or any university.

What makes it different

The underlying records are public. What FossilRange adds is the counting and comparing: ranks across all 99 genera, shared collections, formation and country summaries, and range charts zoomed to each genus's own slice of time.
